To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the reasons for the postponement of his decision on the London Docklands (East Docklands) Compulsory Purchase Order 1985; and when he now expects to announce his decision.

The London Docklands (East Docklands) Compulsory Purchase Order is an unusually large order covering 745 acres of urban land and embracing 337 separate plots. A large number of interrelated issues have required resolution. My right hon. Friend expects to announce the decision within the next few days.
