To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has to make sure existing resources in education are used more effectively.

Our policies for education, incuding the measures set out in the Education Reform Bill, are designed to ensure that we secure the best possible return from the very substantial resources invested in the education service. The implementation of those policies will lead to an improvement in standards and to the more effective use of resources.
