To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his plans to revise the removal of agricultural occupancy conditions in the light of his policies for the diversification of the rural economy.

The revised guidance on the removal of agricultural occupancy conditions in our circular on development involving agricultural land (DOE circular 16/87, Welsh Office 25/87, May 1987) took full account of Government policies for the rural economy.
