To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he has any plans to amend the pupil register regulations for the power of holding ballots in relation to the Education Reform Bill; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend intends to amend the pupils' registration regulations to ensure that all parents will be given the opportunity to have their names recorded in schools' admission registers.
