To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report the covering letter from his Department which has accompanied the circulation of the Griffiths report to district health authorities.

Copies of health notice (88)8, which accompanied the circulation of Sir Roy Griffiths' report to health and local authorities, family practitioner committees and community health councils, have been placed in the Library.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services when he will consult representatives of Health Service staff, voluntary and other relevant organisations regarding proposals made by Sir Roy Griffiths in his report to him, "Community Care: Agenda for Action".

We will take account of any views put to us by interested groups or organisations as part of our consideration of Sir Roy Griffiths' recommendations.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has made any assessment of the number of additional social workers that would be required to implement the Griffiths report on residential care for old people; and if he will make a statement.

We will take any implications for social work into account as part of our consideration of both Sir Roy Griffiths' report on community care and the report of the review of residential care chaired by Lady Wagner.
