To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many vacancies there are in jobcentres in the London area; and if he will make a statement.

On 5 February 1988, the number of unfilled vacancies, excluding vacancies on the community programme, at jobcentres in the Greater London region was 33,800. This represents an increase of over 3 per cent. in the past year.
