To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what consideration he is giving to implementing the recommendations made in the Griffiths report; and if he will make a statement.

We are considering Sir Roy Griffiths' recommendations, taking account of the report of the committee chaired by Lady Wagner on residential care, and of reactions to both reports. The Government will bring forward their own proposals in due course.
