To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what proportion of his Department's budget is spent in the inner cities.

There is no formal definition of inner city areas for Northern Ireland. However, several measures are specifically designed to promote urban regeneration and the budget for these schemes in 1988/89 is 15ยท4 million.
