To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will place in the Library a copy of the Forestry Commission's mapped assessment of the suitability of land in the flow country of Caithness and Sutherland for afforestation.

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to one of a set of indicative overlays prepared by the Forestry Commission for use by a working group of officials. It related to technical plantability only and did not show the major constraints on planting, such as the need to protect areas of high conservation value.I will arrange for a map, prepared from that overlay, to be placed in the Library of the House.
