To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give for each year since 1981 the square footage of factory space vacated by tenants of Warrington-Runcorn new town.

I should emphasise that a significant proportion, about a third, of vacations arise from expansion, and that these figures do not therefore reflect the success of the corporation's role in the industrial development of the north-west.
