My right hon. Friend is always prepared to consider suggestions for appointments but he sees no need at present to make further appointments to the London residuary body.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to his reply of 22 October 1987, if there have been any changes in remuneration of members of the London residuary body and when the next review is due.

One member's remuneration was reduced to £13,084 from 1 April 1988 to reflect a reduced time commitment. The remuneration of the other members and the chairman has remained unchanged since 1 October 1987.The next review is expected to take place in the context of the 1988 general review of remuneration of members of public boards.
