To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what is his Department's latest forecast, based on the Serplan forecasts, for net inward migration to the south-east region, excluding London, in the last decade of the 20th century;(2) what has been the level of net inward migration to the south-east region, excluding London, in the periods 1957 to 1967, 1967 to 1977 and 1977 to 1987.

In the years for which information is available net migration from London into the rest of the south-east more than accounted for the net migration into the area. Migration between the south-east excluding London and areas outside the south-east shows net outflows as follows:
