To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many youth training scheme trainees are currently in employment in the Monklands district; and if he will list the employers with which they are placed together with the number of trainees at each employer.

At 16 May 1988, 1,184 young people living in Monklands district were participating in YTS. Of these, 75 have employed status.Information is not held centrally on placement providers and the number of trainees each has. Such information could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
