Mr. Andrew F. Bennett
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what steps have been taken to increase manpower available to protect the submarine command, control and communications system from sabotage, in the light of lessons of the Brave Defender exercise in 1985.
Mr. Ian Stewart
Exercise Brave Defender was designed to test the plans for ground defence of vital United Kingdom installations and these have been amended where necessary in the light of post-exercise analysis. For good reasons of security, it is not our practice to discuss the details of such plans.
