19.

To ask the Secretary of State for defence in respect of how many acres of Bramley camp his Department intends to seek planning permission for housing development.

There are three small areas of land, amounting to about 20 acres in all, for which we have no further use. These areas adjoin existing residential areas and discussions are taking place with the Basingstoke and Deane borough council planning officials to consider these sites in relation to the local plan. These discussions will also cover the possible release and future use of an area of railway sidings which are no longer used.
