To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received concerning delays in decisions being taken on entry clearance applications made on the Indian sub-continent because of the need for inquiries to be made in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

We receive a number of representations from hon. and right hon. Members concerning individual cases. Specific statistics about such letters are not kept separately.
