To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list in the Official Report the names and status of those University Grants Committee members who visited the veterinary colleges of Glasgow and Edinburgh universities during the week beginning 16 May.

In its review of veterinary education, the UGC is being advised by a committee of six experts chaired by Sir Ralph Riley, DSc, FRS, former secretary and deputy chairman of the Agricultural and Food Research Council. Only Professor T. A. Douglas, PhD, MRCVS (department of veterinary clinical biochemistry, Glasgow university) is also a member of the UGC. Because of a clash of interests, Professor Douglas did not visit the Glasgow veterinary college. Otherwise, all members of the review group visited both establishments.
