To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received from British Rail concerning a freight terminal for Channel tunnel trade in the north-west of England.

British Rail is required by law to publish a plan setting out its proposals for passenger and freight services from the Channel tunnel to each region of the country. I have no doubt that this plan will have something concrete to say about a freight terminal in the north-west.
