To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he estimates that a single natural heritage agency will be established in Scotland.

The Environmental Protection Bill which will shortly come before Parliament provides inter alia for the establishment of a Nature Conservancy Council for Scotland. It is our intention to establish the proposed natural heritage agency by subsequent legislation.
