To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he expects the recent award to haemophiliacs to be paid to individuals.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will give an assurance that the ex-gratia payments of £20,000 to people with haemophilia who have been infected with the AIDS virus in the course of National Health Service treatment will be made to them before Christmas.

We are urgently considering with the Macfarlane Trust the best method of implementing these payments and we intend that they should be made as soon as possible.
