To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what are the total numbers, by country, of British service personnel stationed in non-North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries as advisers; what is the period for which they are stationed; and what are the equivalent figures for each of the past five years.

Some 550 service personnel are on loan or seconded to the Governments of 33 countries outside the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Details about specific countries are generally in confidence between Her Majesty's Government and the Governments of the countries concerned.
