To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, further to his answer of 14 December, Official Report, columns 785–86, if he will specify the offence and the sentence of the only IRA member on category B, apart from the men convicted of the Birmingham bombings.

The prisoner was convicted on 12 counts of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment on each count. Concurrent sentences of 20 years and five years imprisonment, together with a consecutive sentence of 10 years imprisonment, were also imposed for three convictions for causing explosions likely to endanger life and property.
