To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will provide estimates by sex for the number of claimants who will be removed from the unemployment count as a result of the introduction of the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1989; and if he will further break down these figures by sex into (a) part-time workers, (b) part-time and temporary workers and (c) short-time workers.

I regret that figures are not available in the form requested; overall, we estimate that this measure will have no significant effect on the unemployment count.
