To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he last met the Foreign Minister of Ireland; what was discussed; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. and learned Friend has not yet met the Irish Foreign Minister. My right hon. Friend the Member for Witney (Mr. Hurd) last met him as Home Secretary on 13 September 1989. They discussed matters of common concern to both Governments.
