To ask the Attorney-General whether any police officers are to be prosecuted for perjury arising from the collapse of the Morledge case.

It is for the chief constable of the Nottinghamshire constabulary to determine whether there should be a disciplinary or criminal investigation. If there is a criminal investigation the provisions of part IX of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 will determine whether a report should be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions. The question of prosecution cannot arise unless and until such a report is submitted.
