To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the cost of (a) board and lodgings for military personnel, (b) use of military petrol and vehicles, (c) police overtime, (d) payments to St. John Ambulance and (e) payments to the Red Cross Society so far incurred in the ambulance dispute.

Information is not available centrally of the costs of police overtime or of payments to St. John Ambulance and the Red Cross Society incurred so far in the ambulance dispute. It is understood that extra costs have been incurred by the armed forces of £0·792 million up to 30 November 1989.
