To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what progress has been made on plans for devolution; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 9 February 1990]: I refer the hon. and learned Member to the reply I gave my hon. Friend the Member for Ludlow (Mr. Gill) on 1 February. I expect to have further discussions with the leadership of the main consitutional political parties in Northern Ireland in the near future.—(Official Report, Vol. 166, No. 42, col. 417).
