To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the number of single pensioner households in Scotland as a percentage of all households in Scotland.

At 30 June 1989 approximately 16 per cent. of households in Scotland consisted of one person of pensionable age.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the most recent estimate of (a) the number of pensioners in Scotland, (b) pensioner-headed households in Scotland, (c) single pensioner households and (d) pensioner couple households.
