To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he is giving to the recommendations contained in the report published by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust entitled "Working with the Sex Offender: Issues for Policy and Training, Prevention and Treatment" a copy of which has been sent to him; and if he will make a statement.

I welcome the initiatives taken by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust in focusing attention on the treatment and sentencing of sex offenders. We are considering the report's recommendations and its points for action and we shall take them into account in developing our own strategy for the treatment of sex offenders.
