To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what mechanisms will exist after the implementation of he National Health Service and Community Care Bill to enable district health authorities to ensure that the wishes of their local communities are taken into account.

The interests of local communities in the health service in their district will continue to be represented by the community health councils. District health authorities will continue to consult on proposals for substantial developments or variations in the provision of the service.
