To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if it remains his policy to secure the location of the proposed European Community trade mark office in London.

It is our policy that the Community trade mark system should be introduced as soon as possible. Early introduction requires agreement in the Community on the location of the office. Our proposal that the office should be in London remains on the table.
