To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he is taking to encourage LEC consortia to submit outline bids for a training credit pilot programme.

The Industry Department for Scotland encouraged all local enterprise company consortia which had been awarded development funding by 27 March 1990 to consider bidding to run a training credit pilot scheme. Three consortia (Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise, Grampian Enterprise and Fife Enterprise) submitted outline bids by the deadline of 4 May 1990.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what percentage of managing agents providing work-based training under YTS in Scotland are approved training organisations.

In Scotland, 99ยท7 per cent. of managing agents providing work-based training under YTS are approved training organisations.
