To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much money in total will be granted by the employment Training Agency for training programmes following the restructuring of funding for local training plans.

During 1990–91 the Training Agency in Wales' estimated expenditure on training programmes is £114,000,000. How much of this will be allocated to training and enterprise councils will depend upon their individual start dates. Currently in the development phase, all seven TECs in Wales are expected to be operational by about the turn of the year.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much funding has been provided for training programmes by the employment Training Agency since its inception.

Since the Training Agency was established in September 1988 to 31 March 1990, the latest data available, expenditure on training programmes in Wales has been £161,000,000.
