To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) what steps he is taking to ensure that the Government of Iraq are properly investigating the death of British engineer Mr. Gordon Glass; and if he will make a statement;(2) if he will call for a report from Her Majesty's ambassador in Baghdad on the circumstances of the death of British engineer Mr. Gordon Glass; and if he will make a statement.

Her Majesty's embassy at Baghdad is in close touch with the Iraqi authorities who are investigating Mr. Glass's death. The embassy provides regular reports on the situation to the consular department. We will continue to monitor the case.
