To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) what was the total number of applications for attendance allowance received in the United Kingdom in each year since 1980;(2) how many applications for attendance allowance were refused in each year since 1980;(3) how many applications for attendance allowance were granted

(a) at the higher and (b) at the lower rate in each year since 1980.
