To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will estimate the number of students on part-time and non-mandatory courses in further or higher education who will lose entitlement to housing benefit, income support and unemployment benefit as a result of current proposals to withdraw students' entitlement to those benefits.

Part-time students will not be affected by the withdrawal of students' general entitlement to housing benefit, income support and unemployment benefit. Information is not available in the form requested about students on courses of further and higher education which do not attract mandatory awards.
