To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many times, in each of the latest years for which information is available, the provision to make payments to another person on the beneficiary's behalf under regulation 34 of S.I. No. 1968, 1987 has been (a) used and (b) used to pay benefit to the partner of a claimant.

The information requested could be obtained only at disproportionate cost as no record is kept of the number of cases in which regulation 34 of SI 1987/1968 (the Social Security (Claims on Payments) Regulations 1987) is used to make payments to another person on the beneficiary's behalf.
