To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give the number of energy audits carried out in his Department in the last five years and for each audit a statement of its main conclusions.

Informal assessments of energy usage and economy are a continuing process in the Department. In addition, two specific larger-scale energy audits have been carried out in the last five years; one was at the central veterinary laboratory, which is the Department's largest single user of energy. The consultants' report, in 1987,

figures on the numbers of confirmed cases in animals throughout the world. Human infection has been reported on very rare occasions worldwide over a number of years, usually of an occupational disease as a result of close contact with infected animals.
