To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give the number of operating theatres closed in 1989.

Figures on numbers of operating theatres were first collected as at 31 March 1989. Subsequently, quarterly figures have been collected. Provisional figures show a net gain of two operating theatres during the period from 1 April to 31 December 1989.
