Disabled Teachers

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the number of students with disabilities who have entered initial teacher training in Wales for each of the last 10 years; and what percentage of the total number of student teachers these represent.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many teachers with disabilities are currently employed in each local education authority in Wales; and what steps his Department is taking to increase the numbers of teachers with disabilities.

Information on the numbers of teachers with disabilities is not held centrally. The initiatives being taken by the Government to increase the supply of teachers are directed at all prospective teachers, including those with disabilities.
