To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what percentage of employment training places are not filled.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many people are estimated to have been on employment training courses since the inception of the scheme; what has been the cost; and if he will make a statement.

About 700,000 people have entered employment training at a cost of about £1.6 billion. This is indicative both of the programme's success in attracting large numbers of unemployed people and the Government's significant investment in adult training.
