To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many appeals against licences for mineral extraction he has considered each year for which records are available.

The Department records appeals made under sections 36 and 37 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 involving mineral extraction. The number of such appeals decided in each year for which records are available, is as follows:
