To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what is his estimate of the value of export orders won by the British offshore industry in 1989.

The British offshore supplies industry is estimated to have won export orders worth around £2 billion in 1989. I have every hope that the value of these exports will continue to grow over the next few years now that the United Kingdom is established as a major centre of technological excellence.
