To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment pursuant to hs reply to the hon. Member for Mid-Kent (Mr. Rowe) on 23 May, Official Report, column 255, what consideration is being given in his Department's review of noise control to the noise created by low-flying military aircraft.

Noise from defence establishments is formally excluded from the terms of reference of the noise review working party. However, the members of the working party are aware of the issues raised by low-flying military aircraft, and the Ministry of Defence was represented at the meeting at which aircraft noise as a whole was discussed.
