To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his discussions with the other European Community Environment Ministers on the directive concerning the discharge of dangerous substances into water.

I refer my right hon. Friend to the answer my right hon. Friend the Minister for the Environment and Countryside gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Fylde (Mr. Jack) on 12 June at columns 160–61.
