To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether a request has been made at any time to the Government of the Republic of Ireland to implement article 2 of the European convention on the suppression of terrorism with regard to extradition between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

At the last meeting of the Inter-Governmental Conference on 19 April, Ministers of both Governments commissioned officials to undertake a review of arrangements for dealing with fugitive offenders. We will continue to pursue these matters through the conference.
