To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is planning any alterations to the building regulations between the present time and 31 December; and if he will make a statement.

A review of the Building Regulations 1985 is currently being undertaken. A number of consultation proposals has been issued, but alterations arising from these proposals are not likely to be made before the first half of 1991.
