To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give the name, ranks and forces of those who attended the meeting at Scotland Yard on Friday 29 November 1974 to co-ordinate action for gathering intelligence against suspected members of the IRA in England, in connection with the Birmingham pub bombings.

I understand that a number of conferences were held following the Birmingham pub bombings and that these were attended by members of police forces which were engaged in the investigations. Records relating to these conferences have since been destroyed, and the Metropolitan police are unable to say which forces attended which conferences or on what dates the conferences took place.
