To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will place in the Library all the data on which he bases his figures and projections for traffic flows on the A1 road.

The projections for future traffic on the A1 formed part of the work carried out by the consultants commissioned to undertake the Scottish Development Department's major "Routes South of Edinburgh" trunk road study. It is not our practice to place copies of detailed technical reports on road studies in the Library. I did however lodge copies of the consultation document in the Library, together with a series of short technical papers which provide further details on specific aspects of the study.
