To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he next intends to meet his Romanian counterpart to discuss the plight of Romanian orphans.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs met the Romanian Foreign Minister in New York on 1 October and has no further plans to meet him in the near future. However, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is organising and partly funding a visit to Romania by Department of Health and Home Office officials to discuss how the situation can be improved.
